Built by the people who teach Safety-Care.

Safety-Care for Families is made by QBS, the company behind Safety-Care®, the crisis prevention and de-escalation training used by more than 3,700 schools, hospitals, and human-service organizations. This site is the self-guided, at-home version, written for parents, grandparents, and caregivers by the same clinical team.

  • Teaches prevention, de-escalation, and recovery. No restraint or physical procedures.

Who wrote it

The clinical team behind the program

Written and reviewed by the BCBAs and Safety-Care Master Trainers who train school, hospital, and agency staff, in plain language for home. The 5-Week Program and the Behavior Trigger Map are the same approach those professionals learn, sized for one family.

Want live training? We are building two options: in-person training through a Safety-Care authorized organization near you, and a live online seminar with other caregivers. Join the interest list.

    Why we charge for it

Priced to cover the cost of reaching families, not to make a profit.

QBS’s business is training the staff of schools, hospitals, and agencies in Safety-Care. Parents of the people those staff support kept asking for a version they could use at home. We tried free in-person classes first; families wanted them, and almost nobody could make the time, because the hard weeks are exactly when you cannot get to a class.

So the clinical team wrote a self-guided version: a 10-page guide and a 5-week workbook with practice emails, read on a phone, at your own pace. Reaching families costs money, mostly advertising, and the $29 and $97 prices are set to cover that cost, not to make money for QBS.

If the products can pay for their own advertising, they reach more families. If they cannot, they will still have helped the ones they reached. Either way: one-time purchases, no subscription, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
