Safety-Care for Families brings training & education directly to your family. This 1-day educational training for behavioural management & support works through prevention and de-escalation, tailored to help you navigate challenges you regularly face at home.
During the course, families learn practical tools to make daily life safer and more predictable, including:
- How trauma, disability or reinforcement can contribute to behavior
- How to prevent crisis through structured, supportive home environments
- How to stay safe when children become agitated or escalate
- Least restrictive physical interventions (used only when necessary)
- De-escalation strategies to calm situations without confrontation
Safety-Care for Families – a curriculum trusted for more than a decade in schools, hospitals & behavioral health settings – now tailored specifically for use in the home. Unlike many "one size fits all" or crisis only classes, Safety-Care for Families:
- Focuses on prevention first. Parents learn how to spot early signs of distress, structure routines and make the home environment safer before behaviour escalates.
- Teaches evidence-based de-escalation skills. Methods are drawn from the same research-driven model used by professionals who support children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Offers real world planning tools. Families practice strategies for vacations, visitors, contractors or other routine changes that often trigger challenges.
- Delivered by Master Trainers. Sessions are led by instructors certified at the highest level in Safety-Care, ensuring consistent quality & individualized coaching.
This class will be taught by one of our Master Trainers. To become a Master Trainer, one must complete the three-day course of core curriculum for Safety-Care. Master Trainers are required to have annual recertifications. They are constantly teaching Safety-Care curriculum to other agencies and now, YOU!
